The Pella Community School District offers grade levels from preschool to 12th grade. There are two PreK–3rd grade elementary schools (Lincoln and Madison), a 4th–6th grade building (Jefferson Intermediate), a 7th–8th middle school, and a 9–12 high school. Traditional classes combined with arts and physical activities make for well-rounded students. Numerous college credit classes, honors classes, as well as special education classes are also available. The schools place a strong emphasis on character development, responsibility, and parent involvement. They are also equipped with high quality faculty with advanced degrees and participation in continuing education.

Private Christian day school is also available for parents who want to challenge their children to develop their God-given talents for service in His Kingdom. Grades Pre-K through 8 are taught at Pella Christian Grade School, while 9th–12th attend Pella Christian High School. The schools have been recognized as a School of Excellence and a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Pella Christian High School is also listed in the top 50 Christian high schools in America (Fall 2014). Teachers are certified by the State and are professing Christians. Pella also has a thriving home education community with a support group called PEACE—Purposeful Education And Christian Encouragement. For post-secondary education, Pella has a private college located a few blocks from downtown. Central College students are enthusiastic participants in their education, with 100 student organizations ranging from music ensembles to intramural teams—there is something for everyone! Seventy-six percent of Central students complete internships before graduation, giving them real world experience they need. About half of Central’s students study abroad at international sites worldwide. Central College offers students the opportunity to form a community of support and a strong foundation for the future.

Pella Regional Health Center provides options for health and well-being for all ages. Pella Regional providers offer modern technology and medical procedures to keep you and your family in good health. Pella Regional continues to grow to better meet the needs of the community, adding a new Family Birthing Center in 2017 to accommodate over 500 births each year. A new orthopedics center has been added to house Iowa Orthopedics and Pella Regional’s Therapy Services. A new dialysis center will open in 2018, operated by DaVita. Recreational Activities

Pella is a great place to get out and be active. The City of Pella also runs a year-round indoor pool and seasonal outdoor Aquatic Center, offering lap swim, lessons, water aerobics, and more upon membership.

The community is also home to two golf courses, the 9-hole private Pella Golf & Country Club and the 18-hole championship public golf course, Bos Landen. A disc golf course is available at Roberts Creek.

Pella is located in close proximity to Lake Red Rock, Iowa’s largest man-made lake with anywhere from 15-to-17,000 square acres of surface water. The Arts

Pella has many exciting events and activities going on year-round.

Tulip Time Festival—This is a family-friendly event that occurs every year at the beginning of May. From Thursday to Sunday, you will see parades, demonstrations, performances, beautiful tulip gardens, and flower shows. People from all over come to celebrate. An estimated 200,000 visitors attend every year.

Christmas Tour of Homes—A great event for those that love Christmas, décor, historic homes, and architecture. During this event, participants tour beautifully decorated homes, with refreshments at the Pella Opera House.

Klompen Classic 5k Run/Walk—Join thousands of people the Wednesday evening before Tulip Time in this huge 5K! This run/walk takes you through many historic neighborhoods and sites of Pella. Proceeds go to a local nonprofit.

Thursdays in Pella—Every Thursday evening in June and July has tons of fun for the whole family! The community enjoys activities, concerts, food vendors, and more in Central Park. Each week has a different theme. This is a great way to enjoy summer in Pella!

Knoxville—Known as the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville is just minutes away. Races are held from mid-April through September. Also in Knoxville, Peace Tree Brewery and Slideways Go-Karting and Mini Golf are must-visits.
